•216 Bead Mala (necklace or bracelet).
•4mm approximate bead diameter.
• approximately 7.5 grams in weight.
• 100% wild natural forest Agarwood Aquilaria crassna from Nha Trang, Vietnam.
• Treated with natural wild Agarwood resin to protect the wood and enhance the scent. The resin used for these is of particularly high quality offering a beautiful refined scent similar to Oud oil from the same region.
• Very nice continuous natural scent typical of wild Aquilaria crassna.
• Precise material specifications: Goldenwood from wild Nha Trang agarwood trees, is carved into beads, and then treated with a thin layer of resin from the same wild trees. Goldenwood is the layer of golden to dark brown colored wood in between the darkest most resin dense agarwood (strongest aroma and highest value) and the whitewood (which has no aroma or value). Goldenwood is what is most commonly used to make beads, Oud oil, and stick or powder incense. While the most dense and dark portions of the tree are kept and sold whole or as chips for incense. Its very rare to find the darkest and most resin dense portions of the tree that are thick enough and solid enough to create nice beads. Goldenwood therefore provides excellent value in terms of bead quality and aroma without being excessive in price. Treatment with high quality wild resin, a natural byproduct of the Oud oil distillation process, protects the wood and enhances the scent.

Additional notes:
• When we say wild, we mean wild! All our “wild” designated agarwood and oil is from genuine 100% naturally occurring wild forest agarwood trees with no human interventions prior to harvest. Occasionally we might offer other options, but they will be clearly indicated as either “cultivated” (farmed) or “semi-wild” (agarwood growth influenced by human intervention in a natural setting). When we say wild, we mean wild!
• One tree wonders! We strongly prefer single-tree agarwood harvests and single tree Oud oil distillations. This has both environmental benefits and aesthetic benefits in terms of capturing the unique essence of a single, fully mature, agarwood tree. When this single-tree preference is not possible we strongly favour combining wood from only a few fully mature trees, of known provenance, from trusted and experienced harvesters. More and more you will see us moving toward single-tree productions. It’s part of our commitment to sustainability and the joy we take in honouring the individual aromatic “soul” of each tree we harvest.
