Since we discontinued our previous SUBITISM incense heater model, there has been incredible demand from customers constantly asking when we will have a new model available.

Finally, it's here! Compared to the previous model, however, we feel that this one is lacking a little bit in terms of accessories and very importantly does not come with a plug adaptor that is country-specific. This means you might need to get your own travel adaptor so that the unit will work in your country.

We are working on fixing this! We plan to eventually provide country-specific plug adaptors so you don't have to find one on your own, and we plan to improve the accessory package that comes with this device.

But we absolutely love this new model and wanted to make it available as soon as possible! The box is smaller and more compact, the box is stronger, and we think the new solid Asian rosewood design is a big step up from the previous model.

In the meantime, since we're not totally happy with the accessories we are offering at this time, we are adding a sample pack of agarwood and sandalwood valued at more than $100!

We are sure you will love this product. It's simply the best product of this type for precision heating of high-quality raw incense materials.

A note on usage…

Any of our customers ask about which specific voltage or temperature settings to use for specific kinds of material. We recommend a completely different approach.

The rule for this type of heater and the generally accepted approach for heating high-quality pure aromatics, is low and slow.

Slowly build up the heat until you get the desired reaction in the material sample itself.

We find that not only is every single type of incense material different, but that even some samples of the same material are different in how they will respond to the same level of heat.

Because of this, we don't recommend attempting to choose one standard voltage setting for all agarwood samples, or all sandalwood samples, or all frankincense samples, for example.

With experience one develops a general estimated sense of what voltage will best suit different materials.

Within that voltage range we suggest you start on the very low side and carefully watch for the desired response in the material itself.

The primary focus will not be the voltage meter, but rather the heater plate and the reaction of the incense material itself.

It is always better to have too little heat, than it is to have too much heat.

If there's not enough heat you can add a little more.

But if you burn or overheat your very special incense sample, you cannot undo it.

Further, you will often get the most nuance out of the finest incense materials with surprisingly low heat settings and patient attention.

In many cases you are entirely precluding any kind of actual combustion or generation of actual smoke per se, and instead simply causing the volatile oils to evaporate from the material.

This approach extracts the greatest value and aromatic nuance from your finest raw incense materials, while also encouraging contemplation and careful attention to each incense sample as is traditional to the art form.

ONE YEAR WARRANTY on unit functionality provided that the outer parts of the unit have been well taken care of and not exposed to rough handling, abuse, dirt and debris, or water; and provided that the unit has not been tampered with internally in any way. Warranty does not cover any unit with any physical damage to outer casings, cover, any type of water damage; a unit with a burner plate that is physically damaged in any way, a burner plate that is dirty or has been allowed to come into direct contact with incense materials during use. (Use the burning plates and trays provided.) Warranty does not cover damage by fire, or any effects of incense materials catching fire as a result of burning incense materials at excessively high temperature or for extended periods of time. Warranty is offered and claims effected by the original craftsperson only, not the shop. We do our very best to assist in any warranty claims - we want you to be happy with this handcrafted artisanal product - however this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the unit by the original craftsperson. The warranty does not cover refund; rather the warranty covers repair or replacement only, at our discretion and the discretion of the original craftsperson.

IMPORTANT CAUTION: never leave the burner unattended while it is turned on. Sparks of flames may occur unexpectedly in your incense material. the unit may overheat or start a fire if left unattended for an extended period of time. Rest the unit on a heat-resistant surface while using as some heat will radiate to the bottom of the unit. We recommend that you unplug the unit while it is unattended or not in use.
